Description
A male blue grosbeak, Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, late April. A blue grosbeak is a rather stocky songbird found throughout the southern and central United States and northern Mexico. The males are this vibrant blue, with chestnut colored wingbars and a large silver bill. A female is chestnut colored.
